I've been looking around for something cheap to mate with my recent Thiel CS3.5 purchase. Apparently, you need gobs of power to run these, some feel 400watts at 4 ohm is about right (Bryston 4B or the like). The Adcom GFA-555 has potential and I've come across these "pro" amps such as the Meyer which have the power and low distortion, but I wonder if they would actually sound good in practice as a home system in a large room 500sf? Well, if I can add my two-bits in here...
John Meyer is a VERY well respected audio engineer in the 'pro' field (a legend in fact). I've used his concert rigs many times and his studio monitors many times. He deserves his reputation.
I've never dealt with a Meyer amplifier though, except those hidden inside his big studio monitors, so I cannot offer an opinion here.
I will say this though (take note mikeks), if there's a design flaw in anything he currently sells, I believe he'd appreciate hearing about it -- so he can fix it. I cannot imagine that he personally designs every product they offer. Speaker arrays and their processors maybe, but amps I'm not so confident.

Having said all this, there are TONS of great amps around that will provide the necessary power for your speakers, without using a Pro (concert) model that has a fan.
