I purchased a "refurbished" DCX 2496 on ebay a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to test it till this weekend, and the unit is intermittent.
The problem stems from the 26 pin connector between the front panel PCB and the processor board. If I apply pressure to the connector one the front panel with my fingers, it will operate properly. Otherwise, it will not boot properly. Seems like a bad contact of some sort.
Has anyone seen this problem? Is there a good fix, short of attempting to dismantle the front panel assembly? I am afraid that if I dismantle the FPA, it may never go together properly again.
