Circuit to drop voltage signal from 5 to 1 volts (Computer S/PDIF ===> Home Theatre )
I have an output on my computer (in jumper format) to S/PDIF and would like to connect it to my home receiver. Here is a link to my motherboard's manual.

As far as I know the voltage at these jumper pins are 5 volts and need to be dropped to +/-0.5volt.
I have talked to the author of this website and he has suggested a portion of a circuit he has successfully used.

He suggests using the TTL to Coax circuit, modified to use only C1, R1 and R2. With alterations to their values of:
C1 = 0.1 -> 0.01uF
R1 = The resistors can be something close to the suggested values.
"The basic idea is that C1 couples the output and makes the output look like AC, and the resistors form a voltage divider to make the output voltage lower."
So from page 33 of the pdf, I should connect pin 7 to the coax shielding and pin 1 to C1 of the cap and resistor circuit?
