X2 - Identifying Versions

Excuse if this has already been brought up... but I could not find it in the search!

I know the X2 came in two "internal" versions - does anyone know if the version 1 was always in the full milled aluminum chasis and the version 2 was in the steel chasis?

I recall that original units were in steel, but we went to machined
aluminum later (a a higher price) in response to demand,
mostly from our Asian customers. In any case, there are
examples of both versions in both chassis. The earlier piece
is easily identified by having two transformers.

Thank you Nelson for the help. I have just purchased an all aluminum X2.... I will have to check which version it is once I receive it.
