2" baffle to thick?

Hello all,
I am building a sonotube based subwoofer, and am planning to use 1 1/4" MDF and 3/4" red oak as the baffle. Will this impede airflow off of the back of the driver and hurt the performance of the sub? TIA
Happy Holidays.
