This was a 100uF electrolytic before, and has a 470K output resistor. I run my CD player into a 50K pot, so even with these 1uF PP caps I had lying around, f-3 is 3Hz. I can't hear any audible drop in bass level. What's the reson for the manufacturers putting in such a massive output capacitor?

no ideas? or is it to make sure the frequency response is still fine into random low loads? Surely the sonic benefits of not using an electrolytic would outweigh that? Just seems odd that's all, almost feel like im doing something wrong removing a 100uF cap and replacing it with a 1uF.

The manufacturer probably wants to measure the same when loading the machine with 600 Ohm load.....
