Open end position in a TL

Sorry about the question, I'm quite convinced that someone already discussed that topic ... but I'm unable to find it anymore.
So, my question is: how about having the open end near the driver in a TL ?
How bad is it ? Is it bad, unimportant, good (under some conditions) ?

Per definition the line lenght after your suggestion would be near to nothing so defeats the object of having a TL in the first place.
Have a look at Martin King´s page for extensive insight.

As long as the line is well damped and tuned fairly low (< ~80Hz), then the vent's location is a matter of convenience unless you choose to further load it by placing it near a boundary.

My TL Subs, have the driver in the front at the top of the enclosure, the line runs to the back then down, single turn at the bottom, up the front & exits right below the driver.
Driver/exit placement was chosen so the subs could go against the wall. No problems what so ever.
