I was looking for some 35A bridge rectifiers and found the regular metal cased units and the one's we now get for switching power supplies in an in line package. The one I looked at was a D35XB-80 versus the metal encased KBPC3510 .
Is the inline type D35XB suitable for the supply ? I've seen many commercial offerings using the inline rectifiers , both in class AB and class D amps.

Yep, provided the KBU type is mounted as the KBPC.
Look at a datasheet of the older pcb mounted in-line type, Rjc down by 2/3d.
(the 35A rating is pretty meaningless without an Rjc number, imo. Rjc for KBPC35** types can be 2-2.5 times the value of a current through-hole KBU model)
Fast parts like these have high forward voltage drop. They can generate worse switching noise if you are not careful, due to the fast switch off.For audio use you should use some high speed recitifiers like RURG 3060, 30A, 600V, 55ns.
