Having several kinds of microfiber products around the house and noticed it's rather good absorption. Stuck a small piece rolled into 1.25" cylinder and placed it into the monsoon sub's bass port to dampen the bottom end thud. Works quite well.
Have been entertaining the idea of using some microfiber car towels, hand towels for dampening TL's and such. Have been tesing some PM-9 planars with some rolled and added to the edge with good results. Not the cheapest stuff but does work exceedingly well w/ low diffraction. Easy to apply and can be shaped with a fairly fine layer control.

Fiber finess is one of the most important variables in acoustic stuffing materials. That's one of the main reasons FG (~ 5 uM) works much better than polyfil (~ 13 uM and higher).
Now, if you don't like or want FG in your speakers (especially vented ones), then melt blown polypropylene is your next best fiber to FG. However, try and find some!
