Well, I replaced the outputs and power supply FETs.

Amplifier ran and produced sound but noticed that the speaker was floating in and out. and it didnt sound right. D198 was fried and replaced.

So, I decided to jump the RCA gnd to power gnd becuase ive seen this before when RCA grounds break.

Well as soon as I did this, the outputs shorted instantly again. Replaced the outputs again, amplifier powered up and 1 of the 2 1000uf 35V cap immediately exploded.

So i stopped there. Checked D198 again, and its fine. Checked outputs again, and their fine.

Any ideas? Someone mutilated this amplifier before I got it so I am going behind someone and cleaning up their mess.

D198 that was fried, took out the PCB and traces in this area too, which I had to repair. any ideas what this circuit is?
