Subwoofer cabinet advice

I have a subwoofer cabinet that I've had for years which I never used due to a change in plans. The cabinet is very sturdily constructed (1.5-inch walls and 2-inch baffle) and has an internal volume of 4.27 cubic feet (121 liters), and doesn't have any opening cut in it but I'm willing to port it if necessary. I've decided to use this cabinet to build the best subwoofer possible for primarily listening to music (90%) and watching some movies (10%), with the only stipulation being that I'm limited to using 12-inch driver(s) due to the placement of the bracing. I would appreciate suggestions that anyone here can provide on driver(s) choice and port configuration for ported subwoofer designs.

Two more questions:

1) What are the advantages and disadvantages of passivle radiators vs sealed and vented?
2) Would two woofers (10" or 12") be feasible in an enclosure this size, and if so, would it be better to mount them on the same side, or would opposed firing be better?

If you are looking for hifi, what's generally said is that sealed units respond very well (in the home environment).
In this case no need for a passive that is a form of the vented system. :)

""Would two woofers (10" or 12")...""
What do you mean?
I recommend the TANGBAND WQ-1858
I can look at it if you want...

As you requested I compare 3 of the drivers for a starter.
Explain for the forum what type of setup you have or planning, amps and the like, main speakers...
1. and 3. are aluminum cone, 2 is a paper cone.
Number 2 has a better sensitivity. All in all they are very similar.
TANGBAND WQ-1858, VB = 120.0 L, QTC = 0.648

DAYTON RSS315HFA-8, VB = 120.0 L, QTC = 0.687

Another very nice driver CSS TRIO12

Well, I'd probably go for the McCauley 6232...

The McCauley 6232 looks very good in a BR box 97-120L and has very nice SPL.

What are you thinking?! ;)

Sorry I had to delete this post for a 15" driver.
This thread it's only on 120 L/12". Thank you.

Inductor, you seem to really know what's out there. Do you have a recommendation for a 12" for a 2.5^ft (71 l) sealed box? Sensitivity should be around 85 dB. It must be flat to 500 Hz or so and go as deep as possible. Thanks!

Fair enough.http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/231830-new-woofer-old-speaker-infinity-rs-2-5-a.html

BTW, all three of those are too sensitive. 85 dB is the target. Sorry for the hijack, carry on.

After much deliberation, I've pretty much decided on using two DAYTON AUDIO RSS315HFA-8 subwoofers in a sealed design based on the advice of one of the folks at Parts Express. However, I noticed that this is the same two drivers that are used in the Dayton Audio RS1202K subwoofer kit, which comes with a 2.1 cubic-foot sealed enclosure (about half the volume of the enclosure that I'm using). Furthermore, WinISD calculated a volume of 194 liters for this design. What am I missing? Does the opposed-firing design of the RS1202K make this smaller volume possible? I just want to make sure that I have the right information before I make a purchase.

Also, since I don't want to use a plate amp, what would be a good amp for this subwoofer application? Would a pro amp like one of the Crowns or Behringers be suitable? I already have an Audio Control subwoofer crossover, but don't some of the pro amps have built-in crossovers?
