Chris is correct. That is how my Eico HF-12s (mono version of HF-81) work. However, your system may or may not like that approach. I have gotten some hum doing it that way, mixing solid state and tube gear. It may prove just as easy to assign one of the (non-phono) selector positions to your Playstation and leave it there.
