Line array - correct spacing of drivers + focal curvature

is there a calculator for figuring out the correct spacing of drivers in a line array to avoid comb filter etc etc?

The correct spacing is as close as you can possibly get them. This won't eliminate comb filtering just push it up in frequency. This is why smaller drivers are prefered. Most line arrays need tweeters for the upper ranges because of this

well the driver i was looking at is a cheapy one that has most say has quite a lot of high end to it, so perhaps the comb filtering in the upper range would be a good thing?

as close together as possible makes that a bit simpler.

It will be more clear when you read that but its not just overall attenuation. It's a combination of constructive and destuctive interference between the drivers making the response go up and down, almost like tines in a comb, hence the name
