8 ohm test speaker load

Hello all,
I wand to test some 100 wat amps which are 8 ohm speaker outputs but don't have a dummy load. I measured my electric kettle which is 7.8 ohms and rated 1500 watts. I suppose it's a straight resistance load, with hardly any inductance to speak of. Is that resistance value close enough and acceptable to use as a load for testing power output.

Yes Dennis, it will work. Just don't forget to put water in it!

I have used the little oil filled radiators (space heaters) as large dummy loads. Pretty much the same thing.

Its ok for testing power however the lack of an inductive load might not show up possible oscillation problems in the amp.

Same with electric bar fires :
