first, apologies for schem quality--it's no peachier here. got a carcass messing my head. follow the k on the VA to a sort of CFB. note lashed output cathodes. my head can grok either, but not both. this can't be just a dc-stunt to allow smaller outies bec the VA is so low-current. and the 47...erm. thoughts? thanks for the time.

the "lashed cathodes" are just to save money on one extra capacitor. Just like one well nown kit with SV-83's, I forget the name. Ignore that.
What Confused you is that the cathode resistor of the first stage is just drawn in an unconventional place.
