Do I still need a regulator for constant current draw?

I am preparing a LCRC PSU for a 24V 280mA constant current draw device. Since it is constant current, it means I can calculate the R value to maintain 24V. Then is it necessary to have a regulator?

"One less component, one less problem". Is this true in this case?

I don't know what my device (phono amp) expects because it is not my girl friend! I don't know either how much it will tolerate..... but you throw in a good question

How stable is the main voltage?

My main voltage floats between 215V and 232V therefore it is good reason to have a regulator. Thanks

Correction - my constant current draw is 200mA, not 280mA.
