I am repairing and modding a couple of my car amps. basically upgrading and changing some crossover functions and gain stages per maufacture updates. All of the components are SMD and I was wondering since I have to change some resistors in the signal path if there was a preferred brand/type of SMD resistor or just grab some good Vishay metal films with leads and solder them in place. also .. since I was in there.. yank the Ne5532 and replace with LM4562 or OPA 2134..

also modding the crossover circuit (freq range change).. so same questions applies and also what type of caps preferred.. the current ones seem to be a .047uf film cap of some sort..

Thanks
