merry christmas to all!

i recently modified heavyly my cd player witha lot of success!

new servo section/4 independent power supplies/new master clock/eliminated transistorizied mute & emphasis circuits
(replaced with relays)/burr brown op amps/clock reshaper
circuit/ dual regulation on each supply!

the only original on cd player is the brand on the faceplate.

if someone can help me or bring more info about a circuit
to reshape perfectly an incoming jittery signal.

no matter if you have the best player or converter of the planet,
you always have jitter outcoming from the dsp or chipset
(word clock)

with my simple circuit (74hc00) ive learned that jitter destroys a
lot of information & makes the cd to sounds very digital!

thanks to all

how about this (pics a link):

The whole site is interesting.

The Satri circuit for I/V conversion looks interesting?

I usually use Babel Fish for Japanese.

I have been meaning to try it myself but the DAC chips (PCM55HP) in my external DAC don't use BCKO, LRCK or WCKO, their parallel input devices.

I didn't realize babelfish did Japanese these days. Wow. Closer to star trek every day.

Well, almost. It would explain all those crazy manuals. ;)

"The extent which is not believed it was improved. The real image of sound spreads to real truly before the eye. If the speaker goes out completely from consciousness and extends the hand it may be touched by the [something], is. It is glamorous truly, is. In the present my system being something which does not come out, it does this smoothness."

Elso,

I don't think that driving the clock input of the D Flip-Flops with a clock that is not synchronized with the logic level at the D input is a good idea. The reason is that the setup and hold times of the D flip flops Data input are not going to be guaranteed thus causing the flip flop to enter a metastable state every now and then. This goes against basic digital circuit design practice and bits of data are going to be lost.

I am going to experiment with a small FIFO - please see this thread.

Jitter in DAC.

This should enable the master clock to drive the DACs directly and be looped back to any where in the digital signal path (transport, output of sample rate converter) without timing problems becoming an issue.

Asynchronous Reclocking

Hi Dave,
I had the same gutfeeling as you and figured it wouldn't work at all "asynchronous".
I managed to bring over the clock from the transport to the DAC and it gave a slight improvement. Then I got drastic and figured what wiill happen if I use a independent clock in the DAC absolutely not related to the clock in the transport?
To my big surprise it worked! I have tried various frequencies: 16.9344, 24, 24.15, 32, 36 and 45.158 MHz and it turned out the higher the reclocking-frequency is the more analog and better sounding the result is. I did not hear any dropouts in the sound or other anomalies! Square wave from the testdisc is still perfect from the DAC.

Asynchronous Reclocker

Hi All,
Quite some time back I promised to send the schematic of the asynchronous reclocker to all who inquired about it. In the meantime my computer crashed due to a nasty virus and all marked email-addresses were lost.
I am sorry but if you email me again by clicking on the email button at the end of this message I will send you the schematic with the 100MHz oscillator right away!:) ;)
