what to do with that old lan hub

i needed a nice and thin mp3 server for my stereo. so i got a dead
hub from work took the main board out.psu still works. volts are 12v 5v 3v. all right my baby board runs on 12v and 5v so im all right there and cd rom and harddrive to.i just gota finish the front
and wire it up with os. ill post it running with lcd in the stereo stand

I used this one. Built-in LAN, graphics, sound, FireWire, USB 2.0, SP/DIF in/out. Just add CPU, memory, HD and FD (soon to be replaced by multi-format digital card reader). About USD 300 and supports DDR333/2700 and FSB 533. Only downside is that it is Soltek and some noise which I cured with new fans...

heres the thing. the lan hub was free the itx board was u got it free;) total cast $0. or i could just keep the mp3s on this server

the small case is nice. but there asking way to much for it

all in one boards will work and there cheaper but if the ram dies
wich it will or cpu its garbag. i get a lot of customers using all in one boards:rolleyes:
