cap wire lead covers

Hi All,

I've seen in some apmlifier pics that on some capacitors wire lead, some have used what appears to be slip cover over them. It does not look like shrink tube but more like a fabric cover. What is it called and where can I find some. I assume it is to help prevent and accidental short when probbing around the inside of the amp?

spaghetti tubing or something like that. Not sure where you'd get it these days.

teflon sleeving is readily available though, doesnt melt, hv, etc.. pricy though.

Yeah it is. should be able to get 5 or 10 feet for cheap on ebay though, which should more or less last you a lifetime I figure...

McMaster has teflon sleeving for less than $0.20/ft

I've also bought Teflon tubing at Fry's Electronics. I think it was a 25' spool for something like $10.

The cheapest spaghetti I've found is actually stripping cheap wire and saving the copper for buss or tossing it in the recycler... works out to about 1/4 the price of what the audio stores charge

What size?

If anything more than 0.25mm I.D., it can't be Teflon
