RSS210HF Sub advice?

I decided to just go ahead and build a real sub on a small footprint rather than trying to make up for the poor low end on my satellite speakers. I'm thinking about a Dayton RSS210HF in a 1.2 cu ft box with 2 ports (I ran the numbers on WinISD)
Can I go with the Dayton 70 watt amp? The room is smallish and I'll never want to crank it. I just want it to make music.

PS: I'm thinking about making it a down firing sub. Also adding 10lbs of lead to the cabinet in order to allow it to semi function as an end table....

Well...in the ever changing world....I think I'll make it sealed (0.578 cu ft) and side firing with the same amp Any comments? Please?

I think you're a little shy on power, particularly with a sealed design in a cabinet that small. I'd opt for more power if at all possible; you can then EQ the bottom end.
