While I was practing making solder connections to the steel stators I got an idea for removing the burrs and rounding off the edges of the steel. If we could find a way for a diyer to dip the steel into a bath of hot solder we would have very nice rounded edges. The burrs will no longer be an issue since they are buried in the solder. Has anyone here tried this? Doing it by hand is to time consuming, but i suppose it could be done.
Does anyone have another means of removing/ cleaning the steel before we coat it? What should I look for in terms of an etching solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
