Edcor Transformers

I'm starting a thread for folks to list specs on any Edcor transformers that they would like to list. The website is very sparse. So here's what I've got. They will do just about any customization for an extra $20 which I find amazing.

Pricing may vary as this thread ages.

XPWR009: 120 v 60 Hz primary, 275-0-275 175mA, 6.3V 4A, 5V 3A Cost is $51.15 each.
XPWR005: Secondary is 330-0-330VAC at 180ma , two 6.3V at 2.5 amp windings. Primary is 120VAC 60 Hz.

I'm considering having a 600 ohm to 8 ohm CXPP made, minus the ultralinear taps: CXPP25-8-600-SP

What are peoples' experiences with the Edcor power transformers? I've heard that Hammond 200 series PTs have a reputation for mechanical buzzing. That's a big turnoff for me. Are the Edcors solid and silent? Do they actually make rated voltage, or do they tend to run high like the Hammonds?
 
Been using Hammond 300 series PT's in my DIY monoblocks for 4 years now. No buzz or noise whatsoever. 300 series have universal voltage input taps. Highly recommended if output voltage./current capacity is suited for your circuit. I would have been comfortable if it was 375-0-075 / 200mA or more but only offer 175mA model.
Am also using the Hammond output and its absolutely amazing. Just have to alter the negative feedback circuit and component values to ensure a flat frequency response.
No, I'm NOT a Hammond fanboy but very pleased with the product.
 
I paid the $20 on this one. I haven't had the chance to fire it up yet, but I think it will be very good for experimenting. Needs a bridge rectifier, though, so pure tube rectification is out unless you are a masochist.

XPWR052

120V 60Hz primary to 400V 500mA
tapped at 400, 385, 375, 365, and 0 Volts

Sorry, no filament winding, though. I went with a separate filament transformer so that I can put my standby switch on the primary of my power transformer.
 
So far, I don't have a problem with the Hammonds as to buzzing or whatever. The only issue is it operates very warm to hot after some hours, but that could be due to the circuitry (140mA current draw) and I live in the tropics. Nevertheless its held out for so long.
I'd view transformer buzzing as a defect. Can you return the product if it buzzes?.
 
Allow me to suggest this. Don't cut short any of the wires. Strip and solder only the wires in use and bind them and others securely and out of the way. If the tranny works well..good. If not..apply for a warranty claim. I only hope the dealer is interested in having a satisfied customer.
