hi

after over two month of work, between project, woodwork and paintjob, my basshorns got finished yesterday. it was a quit hard job to bring them home. Each cabinet is sand filled, and weight is over 130 kilogram. 4 men were needed to transport them. I wanted the length of the horn not to bee too big, to avoid time delay problems. It has 1,5m length. Calculated Fc is 75hz at half space, with equalizing i am getting 50, 60hz in the room. This is about what my objective was, since i use a sub below them. I utilize a 12" JBL 2206h pro woofer, and a RAS300 plate amp to drive them.
Was the effort worth it ? Absolutely. first listening impressions were very impressive. Extreme controlled and fast bass, the source cannot be detected so easy anymore, and dispersion in the room is much better, than it was with the 15" direct radiator in the bass reflex cab, used before. Now i am awaiting to finish a 3 way horn loaded satellite. That should take more about one month.

hi tinitus

i do not have measuring instruments, to give you a accurate number.
at the moment, i cross at 300hz/24db to the midrange horns. I would like to cross higher, but with the plate amp, that drives the horns, i cannot cross higher.
Since the horn has no foldings, its very clean in the midbass , without coloration . When the horn satellites are ready, i want to use it however only up to 150hz.
