Does anyone here have experience with the EL509 as a power cathode follower?
I’m assessing the suitability of using a quad of them parallel connected with fixed plate and screen supplies of 75V and 150V respectively and a bias current of 1.6A (provided by a RET current source) to deliver ~10W into 8 ohms as a SEP OTL.
Do these tubes draw significant G1 current? If so, how much under the above described operating conditions?
