While listening to the turntable today, I noticed that it was running fast even though the SDS display indicated 59.99 Hz. I later calibrated it using a strobe disk and neon light but had to lower the frequency to 55.26 Hz for the strobe to lock at 33 1/3 rpm.
An hour later the SDS seems to have shut down - there is no frequency or voltage displayed on the front panel, only blinking lights along with the 45 rpm indicator. While in this mode, the turntable motor will not run.
I have never seen this before in the many years I've owned the SDS. I shut it down in case it overheated and will try it again in the morning but I'm left wondering whether this is a more severe failure.
