I have the following circuit: http://img98.imageshack.us/my.php?im...titled2bi1.png
It's a simple linear regulator using LT1084. It's similar to LM317 except that it was larger current output + lower voltage dropout. My question is: is it advisable if I connect my "+" wire to the output pin of the LT1084. If not, what's the best place to connect this wire. thank you. |

* from your image ... I don't quite understand what the extra resistors, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 are for except to limit the current, which would be counter productive for the LT1084 ... R3 is to represent a load, which should not be built into your circuit, Yes?, No? ...
* Your output point for V+ would normally be way to the right at V 0ut (where that R3 is located), but you could connect anywhere along that wire between the LT1084 and that V Out point.

to be honest, I do not remember why the circuit used those resistors before the diode.
r3 is the load indeed and is needed so I can run the simulation in simetrix though I think the schematic still present a clear picture in relation to the topic. thank you for the help |
