Opamp report on "super regulator"

Hi!
I'm very interested to hear which opamp other diy:ers have used as error amp in the famous super regulator.
Is it still mostly AD825 that is used?

Hasn't anybody built the super regulator? if so, did you use anything else than AD825?

Hi JDAPJ,

I use OP27 'cos is cheap, unity gain stable and low noise, not very fast, so no oscillation problems, but it can't regulate as fast as AD825 due to load change. You may bias error opamps in class A (as Kaneda use to in his regulators) by puting resistor or J-fet from opamps output to ground.

Lot's of opamps will work but you have also a couple of things to consider:

Min supply voltage

Common mode limits

Open-loop characteristics

Speed

If you want a fast regulator AD825 is one of the better.

I use AD817 which is the second opamp recommended in the Walt Jung article

I have also tested AD817 and it works good.
