need help with transformer core

i need a core for 600W car amp smps
can anybody help me with a website that have those kind of cores and i want to buy it directly from those websites (so they must be able to ship to israel...)

i still got em , they arent working too good , the radius of that core is too big while the material area is too small .

Hmm. Do they mainly take up too much room, or does there seem to be some adverse effect from that type of form? I have some Phillips surplus toroids that are about 1.75" outside diameter (OD) and 1.25" ID. They seem to work fine. I find them easier to wind, even.

If using the large power like 600watts, it would be better to use switching PSU, today, switching method is widely use in most application. the design is more and more stable, such as ripple, line and load regulation, over shoot, under shoot, recover time, and hold up time -------- etc. improvement has been made to switcher. u can consider switching method.

You might like to find some high permeability cores which you can operate a relatively low frequency. It is easier to get the highest coupling between windings that way. The low switching frequency helps to keep them cooler. I don't know what, if anything, is applicable to your needs since I bought some high permeability ferrites but still have not had a chance to try them out.
