:(page 12, Figure 14) http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn817.pdf ...My question is, what would come between this regulator circuit, and the power transformer.......bridge and smoothing caps?? ...And what =RR= |

You'll need 35-40 VAC, 70-100 VA, 2200-4700 uF in smoothing.
I friend of mine built this PS long time ago and it worked pretty well.

Thanks peranders.
...btw, how could this be turned into a dual polarity supply? ...or is that a drasticly different circuit altogether ? =RR= |

You can built two identical PS and then connect them in series. This will give you a dual suuply.

I'm sorry, I meant a bipolar psu....."plus, minus ( and ground, 0v)" volts output.

OK, so using a center tapped tranny....
positive is one psu, negative is another, ....and 0v (ground) is shared with both. Correct?? ( )=RR= |
