If I choose to use 4 Stealth diodes for a full bridge rectifier on my power supply, how many amps should they each be ideally rated for if my total peak requirement is 14-15A? I have 8, 15, and 50A pieces.

If your peak is 14-15A your RMS is 9.9-10.6. They are effectively in series so each needs to handle the current. Pick whatever diode you want that can handle at least 10.6 amps.

I think maybe you are confusing voltage and current with the RMS.
For a power supply, I would use at least 1.5 times the peak current for the rectifier diodes. The 15 amp ones might be okay, but I would use the 50 amp ones just to be safe. - Rick |

Yes, just to add, the AC current will be greater than the DC current by a factor of about 1/0.62, so if your load on the rectified side is 10.6A then 15A diodes will not be enough.

I have plenty of all of them so I'll use the 50A stealth ones. Thanks for the help! I finally have all of the parts together so now here goes my building skills!!
