Hi everyone,
How do you internally wire a Marantz ki sig cd player with an after market high grade iec kettle lead or alternatively ad an Iec inlet to the back of the unit for connection. If I had to solder it internally it has 2 wires brown [live] blue [neutral] what do you do with the earth wire from the mains cable? Please note that I am a complete novice when it comes to soldering etc. Anyone?

You could do this internally and add a socket to teh back if you didn't mind putting a hole in the case.
By far the easiest way would just be to add an in-line socket to the back as sold at Russ Andrews I think this only uses screw terminals too so no need for solder! |

I have done this to both my KI cd and amp.
Buy yourself a clip in IEC socket. Remove the original cable including the plastic grip. You will now be left with a cut out. After cutting out the difference slot in the IEC socket. Now solder the live and neutral wires. Dont wire in the earth, the chassis is a ground plane for both the analogue and digital circuits. Hope this helps. |
