Suggestions for a high-power low noise Zener regulator ?

Planning to buy a bunch of transistors, I am anticipating a project I wanted to keep for later times : a high power regulated PSU for my amplifier.

I have seen a nice article on TNT-audio that compared different kinds of regulators, and it appears that the two-transistor regulator with Zener reference is the best ( http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/regulators_noise4_e.html )

I have not seen many simple designs over the net using the same kind of circuit in high power applications, that's why I'm asking for help :D

I have never worked with discrete components before, and would like some suggestions for components, and particularly power transistors.

OnSemi has the nice MJL4281 devices, but maybe it is overkill using audio transistors here ?

My design goals are :
- ultra low noise
- 30 to 40V regulated output
- 8 to 30A output capabilities

Thx in advance ! :smash:
