I've got a few small transformers from work, they are originally used in a PSU, 16-30V -> 7V@7.5A.
The windings are 6:5. operating frequency for the PSU is 225 kHz. I wonder if these may be suitable as gate drive transformers even without rewinding, wich was my first thougt. The transformer is 20*20*8-10 mm. |

I guessed the low nomber of windings would be a problem, yes...
There are however some transformers, a bit smaller though, but they have a 3,3V secondary - going to investigate these a bit more later today... |

If you are looking for gate drive transformers, let me recommend you Coilcraft SD250-4 or Pulse T0584 (or the variations that suit your application if you need full-bridge driving).
You can find some experimental results is some threads in this forum. Hope this helps. |
