Default Quick questions about choosing caps

How to make sure I have enough ripple current capability in the capacitor I choose for a power supply?

I have a 45-0-45 transformer. One secondary used for the + rail and the other for the -. The amp is a Class-T driving 2x 8ohms load.

Also, if two capacitors fill the Ripple Current required, what should be next? Extra ripple capability or lowest ESR?

Unfortunately there is no easy way to determine the ripple current other than with a current clamp on an actual built unit running at full power. All we can do at the design stage is over specify. If you say to make the ripple current requirement equal to the load current that should be OK.

As for choosing ripple vs ESR, I think the two go hand in hand, i.e. better ripple means lower ESR. Don't go mad on the capacitor budget
