I'm sure this has been covered before but I couldn't find the right search criteria.
The preamp I'm building has a separate power supply PCB. I need to mount the transformer remotely. Where's the best place for the power supply? With the transformer or the gain module? In the latter case, my enclosure should have enough room to keep the power supply board sufficiently far away from the gain module. Thanks. |

Hi,
I would suggest rectify & first stage of smoothing with the transformer. Final smoothing and voltage regulation in with the preamp, these last connections as short as possible to reduce inductance. regards Andrew T. |
