For clarity, or lack thereof, you can connect two power supplies as described as long as the inputs are [transformer] isolated from the outputs, i.e. Offline converters.
They can share the same mains input, live and neutral along with chassis/mains ground if it is present. If it is not then they should be double insulated.
They may also include Class Y capacitors primary to secondary and primary/secondary to chassis/mains ground for filtering/noise purposes.

You can even chain two SMPS's within one DC rail. I did this sucessfully by chaining four cheap (EUR 3.95 at the moment, I've paid somewhat more...) 24V@2.5A SMPS modules to get ±48V rails feeding a power module of an old Klein & Hummel amplifier from the 1970ies.
