Default Inductor question

Hi everyone, I am building a power supply for a Symasym. The PCB I am using has a Pi filter that uses an inductor that is made by winding 40 turns of enamelled wire around a 33 Ohm resistor. Can I omit the resistor and just have the windings with an air core?
Thanks
Alan

Probably not. The resistor makes the inductor lossy, so avoiding any resonance problems.
