I would use a 7809 regulator. 100uF and 0.1uF 25v input to ground. 0.1uF output to ground. The ground is the tab and 2nd pin.No need for anything more complicated. In the example forget the bridge rectifier as that will be your battery input.

Does the preamp only work with a 9Vdc supply?
Yes only 9vdc, it's a tiny one
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Thanks Jon, but I'm not able to solder such thing ...
Hi,
They claim input voltage must be 9V +/- 10%, 8V to 10V.
I guess that must be because of the valve heater supply.
Its relatively trivial to knock up the required regulator,
in a small box, wired into the connecting cable. If you
can't do it ask someone here, someone probably will.
Personally I am suspicious of most of the guff.
rgds, sreten.

I would like to run a 9vdc powered preamp with a 12v car battery.
These should work. You'll need to add suitable connectors to the wires.

thanks for your inputs guys, will try with this chinese thing.
Be very careful in hooking it up. Observe the DC voltage polarity at both the input and output,
and if you have a meter double check with that, before connecting to your circuit.
thanks for advices and tricks ;-)
At the opposite of Chinese stuff what do you think about this one?
Rather expansive isn't it?
