Maida Regulator Digital Control
What is the best digital potentiometer part that will work with high common mode voltages in a Maida circuit?
An idea I have is to place a digital pot in place of R1 in the voltage set circuit and have a high resistance resistor as R2 to drop most of the volts (and watts).
A problem I find with many of those parts is they do not seem able to withstand voltage on their wiper terminals relative to VCC, VSS, or ground. Also, current may be an issue as well.
If the digital pot idea will not work, what is the best control method? I suppose a discrete digital pot built with a resistor ladder and relays (or something) for switching will work. That will occupy much board space and will probably not be that accurate.
