Default High voltage, programmable power supply?

Does anyone know of a high voltage supply design (400v~ ish, regulated), that can be controlled via a smallish analogue voltage, and go down to near 0 volts? It's not for an audio supply in particular, but rather a digital curve tracing rig with several million data points. I've done a similar thing with adjustable voltage regs, by feeding a DAC output to their Vref pin. The only difference is that I was controlling 30 volts, not 400.

I know there are the Maida type, but the voltage is usually controlled by a resistor that has some serious dissipation. I could do the whole relay/binary ladder thing, but it seems a tad ineffecient. Are there any other topologies I should be aware of?
