greetings having assembled this smps its working but IC VIPER12A
should give 15.5 volts on connecting to pin 1 of IR2153 supply drops to 8 volts smps is being used with top ic 244 voltage does not drop and smps works can anyone help out

You are using the VIPER12N as a step-down converter?
Try using a simple 2W resistor for startup and an auxiliary turn on the main transformer as a supply for the IR2153.
Be aware that the IR2153 ha sa built in zener-diode, do not fry it.

in smps i will try what you say i had one board salvaged from old smps using TOP244
from 310 volts dc i get 15.6 volts dc which i use for IR2153 THANK YOU

taken 310 volts dc supply to viper ic input should i try connecting to ac 220volts using ultrafast diode and 10uf 450 volts cap
