This sounds idiotic to me but
What do you mount your capacitor bank on? I have some 4700 uF caps and a perfboard but the leads on the caps are WAY too big for the pitch on the board. I'm an idiot Did I get the wrong caps? The wrong board? Is this normal and I should get out my drill and make holes in the perfboard that are the right size. Is perfboard not the right item to mount a cap bank? I have some masonite should I be drilling it instead of my perfboard? Is masonite a good insulator? I have some sheet plastic, from my local Tap store, I could drill that and I know it is a good insulator, but ... it doesn't look like what other people are using. Any advice?

U can drill bigger holes and mount the capacitors. However if u r going to use this assy as final, then u need to put glue(rubber based) between the board and the capacitor.

So, just use the perfboard, drill big enough holes and don't forget to "hot glue" the caps to the board.
Will do |
