Looking for 48V phantom power supply DIY

I gave up.
I tried to build 48V supply for mic.
I use 12V to run my device & I need to make 48V from 12V

Any solutions?
I didn't find any reasonable solution.

Idea to build generator with NE555 + trafo + 48V stabilizer is ok?
If You have any experience, please share.

Rod Elliot provides details of providing a phantom PSU for mics.

I would use a simple flyback circuit to produce 48V from 12V.

12v AC can be turned into 48v DC using a voltage tripler ......

12v AC = 17v DC x 3 = 51v DC which you can regulate to 48vDC with a LM317

I have built a few mic preamps that used this method to get 48v Phantom ......

I've got only 12V DC, not AC. That's the problem.

I need details & working solution. Please.

The PB23 is for powering phantom powered microphones with 48VDC. Since the unit uses a 100KHz switching power supply there is no audio noise generated. It has an output pull down resistors so it will work with any mixer.

I decided to put max Iout as 70mA, but I think It would be to much.

The manual has a schematic. For about $25 on ebay, you could get the box with all the connectors and change the circuit to your design. Evaluate both circuits and see if you can improve the 48V converter.
