SMPS Core Selection?

4 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,

As i am planning to build a 200W ClassD Amp with SMPS Supply, I came up to the question of the Core Selection ... can someone help me?
The Inductors I need are:

50Hz filter (5A)
SMPS Main Transformer
SMPS Output Chokes (2x)

ClassD Amp Output Choke (22H)

And this is what I got, all scavanged Ferrites:

(See Attachments^^)

A question about the Caps:

Can i use them as Filter Caps?
The SMPS will give me +-35V .... or is this too close?

Greets from Vienna

Edit: the green-yellow tape marks repair on the cores :(

I use a t106-2 for a class d output inductor.

I use a ETD54 for a SMPS transformer.

Thank you :)

would you say a ETD34 is sufficient for a 350W SMPS?

I used an etd34 to start with but the transformer got very hot.

"Tape to repair the core"?

Psst... superglue! If the joint fits tightly, you'll never notice the difference.

I used the Tape for marking only ;) The gluing was done with Loctite.

Well, I'll give the ETD34 a try ... lets see how it works out in my smps :)

I've got some more questions:

What Core should i use for the Input filters for the SMPS? and what inductivity (inductance?) should they have?

The Amp (2 Pieces) and the SMPS will be located in the same Aluminium case ... is this a problem? I've seen others do so, with and without shieldung ...

Thanks in advance :)

There are plenty of common mode power inductors that will work for the input mains filter.

So long as the SMPS is screened it shouldn't affect the amplifier.

Will it still be okay with a SMPS with 50kHz switch frequency?
The Amp will have around 400kHz.

Thank you very much that you answer all my questions :)

I just received a EE42 Core :D :D I guess that's the best choice of my selection of cores to be used in my SMPS?
