Inductor design: Minimum or effective area?
Hello,
This inductor core has a very different minimum area than its effective area....... http://www.ferroxcube.com/prod/assets/rm14ilp.pdf ...which one do i use? minimum or effective?. By the way, I use the core area in the calculation to see if it will saturate..... I(saturation) = B.A.N/L B = flux density at saturation = 300mT A = core area (the subject of this question) N = number of turns L= inductance |
hello treez
it is more accurate to use the minimum area for flux density saturation (3000 gauss in your case) while use the effective for form factor, reluctance and inductance. |
