Default Flyback SMPS for high

We are going to do another class D amplifier power supply, and we are going to use a Two switch flyback.....350W, and Vin = 90-265VAC.

DoeS any reader have objections.?

If you do object, then do you understand that Continuos conduction Mode boost converter power factor correction stages are regularly done at 400W plus?

And do you appreciate that a two switch flyback is no more noisy than a continuous mode boost converter power factor corrector?

I think i have prooved that Flyback is ok for 350W...

The only argument against it would be if you want a really miniature power supply size.

Generally, (but not always !) flyback converter is restricted to 0-200W range.
The main issue with flyback converter is the high voltage on the primary switch at turn-off that must be mastered in the Vds max of the MOSFET, that is not always easy because it depend on the leakage inductance of the transformer.
In boost converter (like PFC), you don't have this issue.

Thanks Frex, -but here i am discussing two switch flyback, and the drain voltage is clamped to Vin.....its not a problem.
