Hi, looking for simple DC-DC variable voltage and current lab power supply circuit. variable voltage (around 3 to 12 volts) and variable current. (current limiting with LED indicator) Also I will add digital voltmeter and ammeter module. Regards, BT

input voltage is around 12 volts (I have small smps with 12v / 2amp output) Now I want a dc-dc simple circuit for the following output voltage mainly between 3-9 volts. output current 0-2 amps (with limit and led indicator) I will add voltmeter and ammeter BT

There are 3A versions of the LM317, I believe the type # is like LM337?
There will be app circuits for what you want in the data sheets. Edit: try LM350T jan didden

Each one of these pdf’s has a power supply with voltage and current adjust.

Why build when you can buy it so cheaply these days? What you want will cost you about $15 on eBay; how many hours will you spend designing and building it? And how much money for parts? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy DIY and that's why I am here and why we are all here. At some point though I decided to stop building tools so I could focus on the 'real' projects. That's just me. If you want to build a power supply, build it.
Try searching eBay for "DC Buck Converter Constant Voltage Current Voltmeter Ammeter". It isn't a finished product, you'll need to supply the DC input power supply, an enclosure, you will likely want nice panel mounted pots for volt/current control instead of the PC mount ones, etc. So it is half a DIY project. |

12V-3V=9V; @ 2A that is 18W of heat. Have you considered a buck converter?

@macboy Thanks for your reply. If possible send me ebay link which does variable voltage & current with over limit led indicator. @CBS240 I am considering all options. If possible send me info or pointers. Thanks, BT
