I think you are referring to the SJ-502a? If so the common mods include coupling caps, resistors in the signal path and cathode resistors. I would seriously think about adding CCS in place of the 15k resistors on the tail of the 12at7's. A stepped attenuator is always nice too. You should change the power supply diodes to some Schottkey diodes.
