Default Sansui Power Transformer

Can this beast be re-purposed? If so, I'd like to use it to power a class D amp.

We will need information about it to help you. Have you powered it up and taken the voltage of the secondaries? What voltage is the Class D amp you hoping to use it with?

Do you know how to test it safely?

Do you have an in-line AC bulb tester?

Rob.

It was removed from a fully operational 5500. I have not done a thing with it since it's removal. I do not know how to test it. I do have a DMM (a cheap one at that). The amp is a Sure 100*4 with a voltage range of 12-30VDC.

If you can chase the schematic for the original amp we can help with working out its rating and ultimately its use in the future.

If you open them up in Microsoft Picture Manager you can compress them.
